William Wordsworth
I Wandered Lonely as a cloud
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
Streams and Rivers
Streams and rivers
Meander slowly
Past grassy paths
Carpeted in pretty flowers,
busily visited by buzzing bees
And dragonflies flashing
Their shimmering wings,
And pretty coloured butterflies
as they dart in and out
Among the tall reeds
And pretty flowers
Their wings shimmering
In the warm summers breeze.

Spring Time
Leaves unfurling
In a myriad
Of beautiful shades of green,
Snowdops and crocuses
now not to be seen,
The daffodils
Have arrived
Amongst many
Other spring bulbs,
Some wonderfullly scented
As the hyacinth,
Others not so,
As the tulips and iris
Though prettyly
Dressed in
Various colours and hues,
Dancing and knodding
In the light spring breeze.
Here is a link to an illustrated version of the poem :-
Golden brown leaves are falling
From the trees above,
Laying a rich Carpet beneath
Of many hues
More beautiful than any
Carpet or tapestry
made by man,
Leavng their brances bear,
A silhouette against
A cloudless and sunny
Autumn Sky.

The sun shines through
The many hued autumn leaves,
Reminiscent of a brightly
Firework display,
Lighting up the leaves
In such a way
That gives them
The brightest tinge
That neither a painter
Or Photographer
Can capture,
Only by the seeing eye
Can the beauty
Of such a scene
Be conveyed
And appreciated,
That lifts ones spirits
As one comes upon
Such a sight unexpectantly
On a sunny and cloudless
Autumn day.

Bright sunny days
Long lazy nights,
Cool breezes
Gently blowing,
Whispering
Through the trees.

Bright sunny days
Long lazy nights
Cool breezes blowing
Whispering
Through the trees
Birds singing sweetly
Rivers and streams
Meandering to
Distance seas.

As the golden dawn
Peeks over the horizen,
And the twitter of birds
Breaking the early morning silence
From the canopy of treea above,
The song of the birds
That merrily sing brings
Lightness to the heart
As i walk along
the wooded path beneath,
That lifts one's spirit
At the beginning
Of a lovely warm sunny day
That blesses one
As one goes along
Their merry way,
That draws one
To give praise and thank a God
Who is our Father
In heaven
And creator
Of this beautiful day
And world.

Cool streams meander
Past tall leafy trees
There leaves trembling
In the cool summer breeze.

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
